First raised in 1906 for the Champion Coated Paper Company—with expansions in 1915 and 1925—this landmark brick structure framed by oversized steel windows has been reborn as a 233-room hotel. The conversion delivers an 86,000 sq ft conference facility and a 58,000 sq ft retail promenade while honoring its industrial roots.
Key heritage elements remain front and center: the original beam crane now crowns the soaring conference-atrium, and the former paper-press platform has been re-imagined as a sweeping stair that carries guests to the second level. Exposed steel framing weaves through the interiors, a deliberate nod to the building’s past life as a bustling paper mill.
